Call for Papers.

The IFSW Africa Region Social Work Conference on Emerging Social Problems in Africa: The Response of Social Work Practice aims to bring together leading Practitioners, Academicians, Scientists, Researchers and Research Scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of Social Work Practice and Social Development. It also provides a premier interdisciplinary platform for Researchers, Practitioners, and Educators to present and discuss the various most recent innovations, trends, and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in the different fields of Social Work Practice. High quality papers shall be peer-reviewed and can be published in NASOW Journal and other Social Work-related journals.

Emerging Social Problems in Africa: The Response of Social Work Practice.

    1. Human rights abuses and systemic corruption.

    2. Youths: Unemployment, Suicide ideation, addictions, and substance abuse

    3. Early marriages, Gender-based violence and weak social protection processes for women.

    4. Poverty, hunger and food crisis.

    5. Illegal mining of mineral resources, slow economic growth and poor welfare arrangement: The challenges for Social Work practice in resource-generating communities.

    6. Ethno - religious violence, Banditry and Kidnapping.

Submit an Abstract

You can either listen to or hold a 90-minute workshop where Social Work practical methods, techniques, case studies and approaches to social issues are examined. Please submit an abstract for a workshop to be held in person/onsite or online.

4. Review of abstracts received completed: May 10, 2023

5. Early registration closes: March 15, 2023
